    Faro airport is 40 mins drive. Seville airport is 90 mins drive. Cabanas is an ideal base for exploring the Algarve having regular train and bus services close by. Spain is a short drive/train journey away. Car hire is not essential if you just want a relaxing holiday but recommended if you wish to explore the Algarve more fully or venture into Spain.

    Flights: Faro Airport is the closest, low cost carriers include EasyJet (www.easyjet.com) and monarch (www.flymonarch.com). Alternatively Seville airport low cost carriers include Ryanair (www.ryanair.com)

    Tavira is less than 10 mins by car, bus or train. Spanish border 20 mins. Seville 90 mins. In 30 mins you can drive to Estoi (palace), Milreu (Roman ruins), Castro Marim Nature Reserve, Faro old town.
